"I always wanted a Delorean since I first saw them. About 2001 I renewed my interest in purchasing one so I started looking on the web for information. I found out about the Delorean Car Show in Pigeon Forge in 2004 and saw they were raffling off a Delorean. I bought tickets and told a friend about it so he bought tickets too. He won. He didn’t want the car so I bought it from him. The car brings a lot of fun and attention."

"I am not a DeLorean owner (yet). My love for DeLoreans actually started with the movie “The Spy Who Loved Me” which introduced me to the Lotus Esprit. That car became my favorite car (replacing the VW Bug- from my Herbie days). Then, in High School, I learned that some of the Lotus Esprit designers and engineers where teaming up with a guy named DeLorean to make a car. Of course, I had to check it out. When I saw that car it immediately became my favorite car, and I have wanted one ever since. I still love the Lotus Esprit (77-89 models) and the old bugs, but no car has yet to replace the DeLorean as number one on my list."

"Well, here in The border it is almost impossible find a DMC on the street. I saw this car in 1999 in a warehouse, but never the owner. After 3 months, the car just disappeared. And now in 2008, after my friend’s car had a visit to the dealer for service. I found it again. Again, 3 months of negotiation, and finally, I am the new owner of a DMC. "

I own a 1981 Delorean, imported from Los Angeles to Switzerland in 2021. I am doing repairs here in Switzerland with parts from the US or UK. It is running and driving but needs a few parts and love… I am a fan of the look and the engineering of this car. I also owned two Ford Model T that I drive in the Swiss Alps and can’t wait to have my Delorean back on the road.

(Additional useless comments from the web-guy: 'That's James in the picture, in case you were wondering, not Doc Brown, although the resemblance is striking.') | | |

I purchased the car in February 2022 through Prince automobiles in San Antonio. They purchased the car from DeLorean service northwest where it had undergone a restoration. It currently has about 67000 miles on the odometer. I do enjoy driving the car regularly.

"I have owned my DeLorean- vin 5718 since 1991. Have done some repairs and updates over the years, gone thru the cooling fan relay problems, hot start problems etc. Unfortunately, because of life situations it had to sit in the garage down here in South TX for about 3 years W/O being run. In the process of re-doing the fuel system right now. Hoping for the best-- no thick varnish in the tank, just the varnish smell in the tank, but as expected the fuel pump boot had started to disintegrate, turn to tar. Cleaning tank and associated parts right now. Hoping for the best so far as the injection system goes-- waiting for parts, and solvent cleaning what I can."

"Like most people my age, I probably wouldn’t know this car existed if it wasn’t, of course, for Back to the Future. The first time I saw the movie I was too young to understand most of it, but I had it set in my mind that "I MUST own that car." And now thankfully since May 2014, I’m finally living that dream.
I certainly wasn’t expecting for it to be as much of an attention-getter as it is, and I consider it a form of flattery when someone in a modern sports car tries to get me into a race that I know I’ll never win with the original PRV engine being in it. But when I can park next to a C7 Corvette in a parking lot and I walk back outside to see a group of people taking pictures of my car and ignoring the other, I know who the true winner is."

I had acquired 6118 back in 2009 in a non-running condition. There was an engine compartment fire that cooked just about anything that would burn back in the engine bay. It looks like a fuel line leaked from the fuel distributor down onto the ignition distributor and poof it went. Luckily the body and interior are in good condition except for the dash and binnacle, which has cracks in both. I purchased it off of Ebay, and I can say it will be my first and last vehicle purchased in that manner.... The car came from just outside of Pittsburgh, PA, and I've been slowly tearing into it ever since. And my wife would say there should be an emphasis on slowly...
I previously owned 3309, but sold it not long after I moved to Texas so I could build a garage.

"I remember seeing a DeLorean for the first time and thinking along with the 70-74 Dodge Challenger, this was the coolest car I’ve ever seen. If I were in the business of designing cars, THIS is what I would want to come up with. Over the years I had seen them at shows, auctions and museums, but they were always out of reach. But in 2005, I realized the dream was in reach, and so I bought a refurbished DeLorean. I still get a rush every time I take it out.”

I've owned a total of 5 different DeLoreans; though, I only own one at the moment. I'm always willing to lend a hand if one needs repairs and I'm a strange mix of brave and foolish enough to try to drive one on a daily basis.

I fell in love with the Delorean as kid growing up watching BTTF. As I got older, I still love the BTTF series, but got more involved with the story behind the car, and it makes me love the car even more. Still nothing else like it on the road today after 36 years.

"I’ve owned the car since March 2005. It’s been under the restoration process since I bought it. I bought it to learn how the car works and was put together and to give me something to do. I have been a obsessive fan of the DeLorean since I saw BTTF part 3 when it came out. John DeLorean is still my hero, the accomplishments the man made are amazing. He went to the same high school as my dad. My youth pastor went to church with Mr. DeLorean so I’ve been around John’s past for most of what I can remember. I have found that DeLoreans come with a fever, once you get a taste of them it only gets worse and the only prescription is more DeLorean."

“After purchasing it in Oct. 2010, it went into DMC’s shop for major fuel system, and various other mechanical repairs. It could use some other cosmetic interior, and body restorations, but for the present time, I am just happy to have it running properly! It currently has 11,800 miles, and has been in California, New York and Pennsylvania before my ownership of it. I’m happy to have it in my life, and will do everything possible to keep this little miracle going!"

I have been wanting a DeLorean since they were introduced and since I am not getting any younger, I finally did it (one bucket list item down). She was just purchased from her previous owner in PA (who I believe is the 2nd owner). She has 23,700 miles and needs some work to get her in safe and drivable condition, but she does run and had last passed inspection back in 2011. She is being shipped directly to DMC Texas for evaluation and we’ll see what they have to say. Let the adventure begin…

I've personally loved the DeLorean for as long as I can remember. As a little boy I saw it in a book and just became obsessed, igniting my passion to work on cars, and drive them around the track or on the road. Growing up, I helped my dad work on cars and restore some of his projects, and eventually obtaining some projects of my own. I didn't just want to own a DeLorean, but I wanted to put my own skills and craftsmanship into one. When my wife and I found 1537, she had been abandoned for well over a decade. Rotting on a ranch just south of San Antonio, and having a multitude of bad modifications, I have my work cut out for me. As we tear down the car, every piece salvageable is treated with the love and respect it deserves. Follow Team1537 on Instagram for the complete story so far @the_road_to_88mph.

From Sweden to Texas!
My path to the goal of owning a DMC came about year 2000 meaning some years after the iconic "Back to the future”, I noticed the DMC and just thought that some day I buy one.
In 2012 the Father of my daughters best friend told me that he had one and it should be sold, I bought it, and was happy. Two more was bought though sold because of focusing on property development. In 2020 it was time for the fourth and that will be owned for the rest of my life.
For sure owning an DMC is living a dream, it gives so much back, you just smile when you see it, and when you drive it you share the smiles!
All of my four de Lorean´s have been of year model 1983, and produced in August 1982, I guess that the first and the last one with only 35 numbers between, maybe have seen each other in that time in Belfast.
All the best dear DMC Sisters and Brothers!
